Miguel Morciglio-Figueroa, 41 of the 300 block of North Franklin Street, Lancaster City raped the now 19-year-old woman starting when she was six until she was 15 years old, the DA's office detailed in the release on Thursday.
“It is too late to get her innocence back,” Assistant District Attorney Benjamin Baker said in concluding his closing argument. “It is too late to get her childhood back. But it’s not too late to give her dignity back. I believe you’ll make the just choice."
Figueroa was convicted on Tuesday following a two-day trial where the victim testified. Lancaster County President Judge David Ashworth presided over the trial. "The jury deliberated for approximately two hours before returning a guilty verdict on rape of a child, aggravated indecent assault, statutory sexual assault (11 years older), unlawful sexual contact with a child, corruption of minors, rape – forcible compulsion, sexual assault, and indecent assault of a person less than 13 charges," the DA said.
The Lancaster City Bureau of Police Detective Jared Snader led the investigation and filed the charges in this case.
